With his name capturing the attention of wrestling fans across the globe, Jon soon earned a developmental contract with the WWE. He then took on the name of Dean Ambrose and began the process of cementing his name in stone. Feuding with William Regal and Seth Rollins most notably on NXT, Ambrose went on to make his much anticipated main roster debut at Survivor Series 2012, coming in alongside Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to make a massive impact in the main event, aiding CM Punk in retaining his WWE Championship. The Shield tore an unstoppable path through the WWE for over a year before going their separate ways and into singles competition. Dean first went after Shield traitor Seth Rollins for revenge, and then on to win Intercontinental and WWE World Heavyweight Gold. After the reveal on Monday Night RAW that the Shield has in fact worked for Paul Heyman WWE.com posed a few questions that are no doubt on everyone’s mind. Who leaked the footage and does this mean all of the attacks were done for Paul and then Champion CM Punk.

Mr. McMahon promised evidence linking Paul Heyman to The Shield last night on Raw Roulette, and true to form, The Chairman delivered.

Moments before he was attacked by Brock Lesnar, McMahon produced the proverbial smoking gun in the form of candid-style footage that confirmed collusion between the mad scientist and not only The Shield, but also former referee Brad Maddox. In the footage — apparently filmed by Maddox’s trusted cameraman, Carson —Heyman revealed, in no uncertain terms, that he “plucked [Maddox] from obscurity” and installed him as the referee for Punk’s Hell in a Cell WWE Title Match against Ryback (which Maddox would later infamously derail by costing Ryback the match). Heyman later reveals that he’s got The Shield in his pocket as well.

CM Punk’s current mentor and renowned evil genius Paul Heyman stirred up a name from Dean’s past this week for an exclusive interview with his website HeymanHustle.com, that being Gabe Sapolsky, the founder and manager of Dragon Gate USA & Evolve, two promotions Dean worked extensively for over 2010/2011. Here’s what he had to say!

What was it like to work with Dean Ambrose before he exploded on the WWE at Survivor Series? The man who gave Ambrose his very first big break discusses the early years of WWE’s newest superstar!

I’ll never forget the very first moment I worked with the man now known as Dean Ambrose. There was only one other time I experienced anything like it in my 10 year booking career and that was with Paul Heyman’s current top hustler, CM Punk.

We were fortunate to have Ambrose, then known as Jon Moxley, as a building block of my Dragon Gate USA and EVOLVE promotions for almost two years. I have to admit, I was in love with him as a talent and fascinated by him as a person. We had an instant creative chemistry. It paid off with Ambrose leading Kamikaze USA of Dragon Gate standouts YAMATO, Akira Tozawa and Shingo as well as being in a violent feud against Jimmy Jacobs. The bloodbath I Quit Match against Jacobs at DGUSA Bushido: Code Of The Warrior 2010 is an ageless classic.

He’s been up and down and all over the PWI 500 since his debut into it’s ranks in 2006 at #447. So where’d he end up ranking this year? At a quite baffling #253! Then again, when a man has been kept off of TV as much as he has, I suppose it’s to be expected. It’s quite a drop from last years #102 but we have every faith that in the not too distant future, he’ll be seeing off the current top rankings with ease. Not too shabby!

With speculation running rife over when Dean’s actually going to make his debut on WWE Programming outside of endless Dark Matches, us fans are keeping the faith and the Bleacher Report have written this interesting article on how and why he could be brought in to things now on RAW. Of course, we’d all love to see this happen. But would WWE ever be smart enough? Head on over to read.
