Unlike many websites, Dean-Ambrose.Net is not run on a 'free host' and instead operates on a private dedicated server to keep things nuisance Ad free and running as fast as possible with absolutely minimal down time. It also keeps the site firmly in our hands with nobody governing us. This being the case, it costs a lot to run each month. I've had enquiries about how people can help so I thought I'd add the Donation button back to the site for a little while, if you'd like to help toward server costs, anything you send will go straight toward them and be very much appreciated! Interview with french internet show CatchNewz. You can find the transcription in French HERE
English transcription by us below:
– AJ49: Hi Dean how are you today?
-Dean Ambrose: Good how are you?
-AJ49: Well, thank you. In 2016 you made great matches, you won the title of champion of the WWE for the first time and you have been in the Main Event of a lot of shows, you are also one of the stars Of Smackdown Live since the brand split, so do you think 2016 is your best year at WWE yet?
-Dean Ambrose: I haven’t really compared or thought about years, one year to the next. You know it’s just been, since the day I got here its been such a huge whirlwind, it seems like its just been one long year, even though its been four or five. I’d say probably yeah, being able to be part of Smackdown Live has been very rewarding, its been such a great show with a great crew and one of the best locker rooms I’ve ever been a part of. Being able to be a part of building a shell from the ground up has been very rewarding, I’m happy to be a part of that.
-AJ49: In a recent interview, you talked about retiring earlier than expected, but what would you like to accomplish before you retire?
-Dean Ambrose: It’s hard to say, from a material standpoint I’ve been a part of every kind of match I ever dreamed of being a part of, accomplished so much from an objective standpoint. But when I look at it like when I was a kid and I was first starting wrestling, all I wanted to be, the ultimate goal, the thing that drove me to start training.. I just wanted to be a wrestler. I just wanted to be one of those guys on TV living that life and being able to say “I’m a pro wrestler and I’m good at it” you know what I mean? And now when I look back at that I’m like “oh shit” and I’ve got all this other stuff, all these other things I accomplished, but the main goal was just.. I got to do it. I got to go live my dream, I got to actually be a freakin’ pro wrestler, just like I wanted, so thats the really rewarding part for me. As far as other accomplishments, I think they’ll just.. it’s not like you can really seek out stuff and accomplish it, and go do this and go do this. You kinda have to roll with the punches and see how things go. Rewards and accomplishments will come in time and I’ll just take them as they come until the day it’s time to hang it up.
-AJ49: My last question is about the intercontinental title, do you think the Miz raised the title to another level and do you feel the same things as when you won it for the first time in 2014 or are you more proud to wear now?
-Dean Ambrose: Yeah I definitely take a lot of pride in the Intercontinental Championship, it’s always been known as the workhorse title and for me its like.. for me it’s just every day you walk out to the ring with that thing it’s a reminder of where you’re at and what you represent and you’re not putting on some half assed performance because you gotta keep the Intercontiental Championship around your waist. It’s go time.
With WrestleMania just around the corner, ADC gets a glimpse at the real side of “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose – find out what drives him to be the workhorse of WWE. Plus, will he get a better match out of Baron Corbin than Brock Lesnar?
During the Richmond Wizard World event last weekend, Dean took part in an audience Q&A. We already posted video from the event however, for crystal clear audio, you can give a listen to the file below. Courtesy of WrestlingAudio.com
Dean spoke with CBS Boston about his plans with the Championship, getting to sleep in his own bed and how it felt to finally reach the top.
BOSTON (CBS) — Sunday night in Las Vegas, Dean Ambrose won two matches in one night. He beat five other men in a Money In The Bank Championship contract ladder match. He went from winning that contract to — about an hour later — pinning Seth Rollins, in eight seconds, to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Seth Rollins had just beaten Roman Reigns following two Pedigrees.
A day later, Felger & Massarotti executive producer James Stewart talked to Ambrose.
James asked Dean if he’s slept since he won the championship and if he got to party with the NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers.
“I actually got to sleep in my own bed last night, which is a rare, rare treat, because I live in Vegas,” Ambrose said. “I only slept in it for about an hour-and-a-half, but it was a good hour-and-a-half.”
Ambrose said the strongest feeling after winning the championship was one of relief.
“I was immediately so tired from a match that lasted 30 seconds,” he said. “I’ve never been more tired after a match in my life, because it was just like a big weight off my shoulders. Just the responsibility I had to the people who stuck behind me for so long. I’ve been chasing that thing for going on two years now. I’ve come so close to rolling that boulder to the top of the hill, and it kept falling back down over and over. So it was just nice to get that sucker over the hill and say, ‘All right, now we can chill out for a second.’”
James also asked Dean if he would have cashed in on Roman if Roman had retained against Seth Rollins.
“I woulda whacked him right in the back of the head with that briefcase,” Ambrose said. “Here’s the thing: I’m prone to losing things. I lose my keys and my sunglasses and my hat, I’ll lose my shoes. I lose everything. So the thought of carrying that briefcase around for a year, in the airport and going from hotel to hotel and building to building carrying around that ridiculous briefcase, I was like, ‘I’m gonna lose this thing. There’s no way I’m going to be able to keep track of this friggin thing for six months or a year, let’s just get to it tonight and let’s get this sucker out of my hands and get something else in my hands.’”
Saturday night, the WWE will have a live event here at the TD Garden in Boston. The scheduled main event was going to be Roman Reigns defending the WWE Championship against Seth Rollins but now with Dean winning the championship, the main event is up in the air.
“I will face any man, woman, child, any being, any monster that is in Boston,” Ambrose said. “Basically everybody you could possibly want to see is going to be at the TD Garden in Boston, because we love coming to Boston. It’s one of our best towns, our best audiences, and we’ve had a lot of great moments there. It’s kind of one of those shows that everybody looks forward to on the calendar. So everybody’s going to be in the building. I don’t know who’s going to step up. I always step up. I live at the plate, you know what I’m saying? So it could be anybody. Who knows what’s going to happen? But I’m going to be there, and I’m going to be taped up and ready to fight. So we’re going to see what goes down.”
