The Shield finally addressed the Rumble situation on Smackdown as they started out the show with an in ring ‘debate’. It was all scowls from Ambrose and Rollins as Roman basked in the glory of his impressive Rumble showing, but he quickly defended himself telling them both that it was every man for himself. Dean however, was less than pleased with that answer. Getting in Romans face and flatly tell him if they could do it over he’d toss him out without a second thought, and he wouldn’t rush him from behind, he’d throw him out ‘right to his face’. Roman responds that he doesn’t need to think about doing it, he did do it. Just as it looks like things between the pair are about to reach boiling point the frustrated ‘voice of reason’ Seth Rollins steps in and breaks the two up, reminding them who they are and who they really should be focusing their anger on – that being The Wyatt Family, who cost them a spot in the Elimination Chamber on RAW.

Ambrose and Reigns reluctantly agree that that problems bigger and with more encouragement from Rollins, Ambrose takes the mic again and swears that if The Wyatts want a new world they’ll give them one, they’ll wipe them off the face of the planet. The trio demand they come out and face them. What they get however, is Vickie Guerrero who has an announcement to make. An announcement thats interrupted by Triple H heading down to the ring to confront The Shield. He tells the boys there will be no fight between The Shield and The Wyatts, theres no profit in it and no point. Let it go.

‘Let it go’ isn’t really a saying The Shield are familiar with and while Dean paces furiously, Roman steps up to Triple H and flatly tells him they’re not asking for his permission. The CEO reluctantly backs down and decides if the fights going to happen anyway, he might as well profit from it. The Shield Vs The Wyatt Family at the Elimination Chamber Pay Per View. And the internets wish is granted!

Later on in the night The Shield wait to face the trio of Mysterio, Sheamus and Bryan but are interrupted by a chilling message from The Wyatts. Plunged in to darkness Bray tells them they should be careful what they wish for, and she be doubly wary of letting the Devil in to their back yard, he might like it and decide to stay. Yeah okay, creepy shirt guy, whatever that means. The Shield look less than impressed with Brays mumbo jumbo and shake it off, getting in to the match. The returning Sheamus causes Ambrose a bit of bother but it’s nothing they can’t handle and in true chaotic Shield style they run the other team ragged and despite Daniel Bryans undeniable momentum, it’s a Spear from Reigns that stops them in their tracks, picking up another win for The Shield. Surely, the Wyatts were watching.

Even with the WWE Universe roaring its approval, though, speaking up against the corporate power has never done anyone much good in WWE, and so it was that Bryan was soon besieged by The Shield, who The Authority was all too happy to sic on the besieged fan favorite. It took Sheamus to help give Bryan a fighting shot, and, finally, John Cena to even the odds enough that The Hounds of Justice beat a hasty retreat. To top it all off, Bryan might get what he wants yet: As a result of the melee, he, Cena & Sheamus were confirmed to face The Shield in Raw’s main event, and the winners would be headed into the Elimination Chamber.

Danel Bryan, John Cena & Sheamus punched their tickets to the Elimination Chamber by beating The Shield to earn their way into the match, though they do owe the win to a surprising, DQ-inducing interference.

After a tight back-and-forth in the opening, The Shield trapped Cena in the numbers game, and Roman Reigns providing the exclamation point via Superman punch; Seth Rollins followed up by knocking Bryan off the apron and attempting to bait Sheamus into an illegal bum-rush of the ring. Cena managed to create separation with an Attitude Adjustment to Dean Ambrose, at which point he finally – finally – found Bryan for the tag. The submission master immediately went to work, hacking away at Seth Rollins until Reigns and Ambrose tried to instigate a brawl to throw off the match.

Cena & Sheamus neutralized the threat, leaving Rollins and Bryan to brawl it out. Which they did, extensively, to such a degree that Cena and Reigns had to tag in. The big man immediately fell to the STF and was about to break the hold when – they’re here – The Wyatts crashed the party for the second time in consecutive evenings. Without warning, the outlandish trio laid into Cena, delivering the win to his squad in the process. In other words, “YES!”, WWE Universe: Daniel Bryan is headed to the Elimination Chamber. As for The Shield? Their road to WrestleMania just got a little bit rockier.

With all the controversy leading in to The Rumble it was set to be a big night for The Shield and it certainly was, the boys showing up early on to cut another promo and warn everybody that they were a pack of dogs set to rip the Rumble apart despite knowing that they have 27 men they’ve terrorized for a full year in there with them. But that doesn’t deter them, heck, Romans still positive he’s winning. Something that Dean and Seth seem less than pleased about (View Promo Above!)

When the Rumble match rolled around, Rollins found himself in at #2 and up against the #1 draw CM Punk. We wouldn’t see Ambrose until lucky #11 and the second member of The Shield to emerge, running to the ring to aid Rollins, Ambrose was able to get two eliminations in quick succession, that being R Truth and Jimmy Uso, both men he’s fought with extensively over the past year. Roman entered soon after and the mayhem truly began, the trio eliminating left right and center for over 20 minutes until eventual and almost inevitable disaster struck. Dean attempting a ‘cheeky’ elimination on Roman saw him in hot water with his team mates. Roman went on to eliminate BOTH Dean and Seth at the same time, leaving himself in the match and his partners glaring back at him. A snarling Dean warned that he should never put his hands on Reigns again. Oh dear.

With Ambrose’ part in the Rumble done, it was down to Reigns to fly the flag of The Shield and he made it to the final two, unfortunately he was unable to overcome Batista and found himself eliminated last. So he didn’t get the job done that he promised. Something, I think Dean is secretly smirking.

Total Time in Rumble: 34 Minutes
