It was announced last month that WWE Magazine would be ceasing publication after 30 years on our shelves. Naturally this makes the final issue a collectors item and something of a big deal, so what better way to have it go out than to put on the cover the three men that took out the likes of The Undertaker during their Shield run? Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns get their very first – and sadly, last, WWE Magazine Cover! Featuring an article on the three and their rise to the WWE Championship stakes, it’s a collectors edition to boot. A fitting way to end an era, showcasing the future.

The issue is released on September 16th in the USA, a little later in the UK and elsewhere. Make sure you reserve your copy now! Congratulations to Dean and the boys!

With a huge thanks to Jennifer we have two sets of scans from French Wrestling magazine ‘Planète Catch’, featuring Dean in a couple of articles. From issue #53 she provided us the following translation from part of an interview with Lucas Di Léo (who was a WWE developmental talent, wrestling under the name of Louis Fontaine in NXT) regarding Dean’s impact with The Shield:

“Planète Catch : Are you surprised by the impact The Shield has made?
Lucas Di Léo: Not at all. Dean Ambrose, WWE had to give him something. He was on the road for about six months and never appeared on television, and for him, it was pretty frustrating. Until now, they were like “we know that you are very talented, very strong on the mic, but we don’t know what to do with you”. Seth Rollins was there for a while too, as well as Roman Reigns. And when you see them today, you realize that they perfectly fit in the RAW roster”.

And from Issue #52 I’ve translated the Bio write up they did for Dean (though my French is rusty as Hell! don’t laugh at me). You can check out the scans in the Gallery!

Dean Ambrose,
The Extremist

Do not be fooled by his age: For his 27 years, Dean Ambrose is a seasoned fighter, trained in the most brutal battles. For proof, just take a quick glance at his career: the young athlete began on the independent circuit in 2004, when he was just 18 years old! Heartland Wrestling Association in Ohio was his home until he accepted the invitation of Stamford. This warrior soul has honed his craft in an impressive number of indy federations including CHIKARA, Dragon Gate USA (emphasizing the Japanese style) and the terrifying Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) known for extreme hardcore wrestling! To give you an idea of the violence of his duels, do some research on your favorite video sharing website, you will not be disappointed! within it, Dean won two Heavyweight Champion belts before joining WWE in 2011. Raw Superstars beware, this boy is dangerous!

Big thanks to Linda for providing us with Scans from Germanys ‘Power Wrestling’ Magazine March Issue featuring Ambrose and The Shield, she’s also translated the ‘Top 50 Most Important Wrestlers’ Article on Ambrose for us, he came in at #45 on their list, and the head of The Shield (Reigns at #46 and Rollins at #47):

Dean Ambrose presented himself as the unofficial Leader of The Shield at the end of 2012. Often it was Ambrose who took the longer parts in their Promos and shined with charisma and self confidence. With his outstanding selling skills he also attracted attention at his PPV Debut in December at TLC. The former Death-Match-Wrestler is currently considered the Superstar with the greatest potential of the trio and his future looks promising!
