An eventful start to the week for The Shield as a recap of Dean’s misadventure against Mark Henry is played, leading us into an interview with Renee Young and the men in black. Dean starts things out by announcing that he’s surprised Mark Henry even turned up this week for a match against Roman, after the beating he took last week. Something that Roman instantly scoffs at. Dean retorts with ‘Oh and I suppose you think you can do better?’ to which the annoyingly cocky Roman responds that he knows he can. Anybody else getting a little agitated with his arrogance? Yeah, us too. Dean throws his hands in the air and rolls his eyes, leaving Renee to change the subject to the Wyatts. Seth gets us back on topic and reminds the world once again they’re not afraid of the spooky trio, to which Dean reclaims Renees attention and waves his fingers in her face, telling her that the Wyatts are nothing but an illusion and their mind games don’t work on The Shield. Roman chimes in to end that the Shield don’t experience fear and they don’t back down. Believe that.

Later on in the night Ambrose and Rollins accompany Roman to his match against Henry. While he seems supportive, Dean remains ancy on the outside as Roman takes it to the big man. Initially getting his booty kicked, until a well timed Samoan drop followed by his Superman Punch and eventual Spear score Roman the three count – much to Deans dismay. While Rollins bounds in to the ring to celebrate with his partner, Dean hangs back, clearly annoyed. Getting in to the ring eventually to stand at Romans side, but theres no congratulating today. Instead Dean turns on Henry, kicking him when he’s down and forcing him out of the ring in true oldschool Shield style. The beatdown beginning.. alone. Roman leans over the ropes and asks Dean what he’s doing? Well duh, Roman. Doing what The Shield have done for a solid year. Attack and dominate. What, suddenly too good for that? Dean’s about to get in his face when they’re interrupted by The Wyatts.

Once again The Shield are united as The Wyatts speak from the Titantron, asking them if theirs is a cause they’re willing to die for, if they aren’t, they’ve already lost. This time Roman cuts them off, telling them to bring that noise to the ring. Wyatt seems amused and tells him they were thinking the same thing. Seconds later, The Wyatts are making their way to the ring. The Shield ready for them, the standoff begins again. Both teams across from one another waiting for someone to snap. Just as it looks like it’s going to, Bray orders his men to stand down. The Wyatts backing away yet again… mind games?

Later on in the night as Sheamus and Randy Orton battle, The Shield attack and break up the match. Leading to every member of the Elimination Chamber match racing to the ring. A brawl broken up by The Wyatts, appearing out of the darkness to stand across from The Shield. With tensions high, they finally explode. The two teams tearing in to each other as RAW goes off air.

Our first sighting of The Shield this monday comes when we’re taken backstage to find the trio with roving reporter Renee Young, who asks them about their upcoming match against the Wyatts and the fact that Bray has had some pretty harsh words for them. A rather smooth Reigns tells her that actions speak louder than words while Rollins decrees that while the Wyatts speak in riddles, the Shield speak in absolutes. Ambrose picks up and says the only absolute is The Shield destroying the Wyatts at Elimination Chamber. Renee however, seems unimpressed. Turning her attention to Dean and his United States Championship and plainly asking him if he was ever going to defend it again? Indignant, Ambrose tries to enlighten the bubbly blonde that Championship matches don’t just fall out of thin air, theres a lot of red tape, a lot of paperwork, nobody is brave enough – to which Roman simply cuts him off and asks him what he’s talking about. Rude! Obviously Roman hasn’t held a Championship long enough to know what it’s like! Ambrose indignantly declares that he’s a fighting Champion and in fact he’ll issue an open challenge tonight to whoevers brave enough. Then, he stalks away, leaving Rollins rolling his eyes and Reigns amused. Psht.

Later on in the night Ambrose comes out with Reigns and Rollins behind him, entering the ring and issuing his challenge and at first there seems to be no takers – until the dreaded theme of Mark Henry hits. Ambrose suddenly looks like he’s regretting his decision, but stands his ground as the worlds strongest man lumbers down to the ring. Reigns and Rollins head to the outside as the match gets underway and first Dean attempts to out move Henry, only to find himself trapped and flung around like a ragdoll. He makes a quick escape to the outside and regroups with a pep talk from Rollins and Reigns. Back in the ring, he finds his stride and goes after Henrys injured arm, ripping off his bandaging and attacking it. Only to get tossed out on to the floor. He then finds himself manhandled on the outside, his head squashed against the post like a grape. Ouch. Once back in the ring, a lucky break sees Ambrose regain control and go after the arm again. He begins to get cocky, taking Henry down and grounding him. But sadly it doesn’t last as Henry simply uses his other arm to beat his way out of the situation. A worlds strongest slam later, and it looks like Ambrose is going to lose his title. Rollins to the rescue! The match is ended and Ambrose disqualified, but at least he gets to keep his gold. The Shield assault Henry and leave him on the outside, heading for the stairs.

Only to be cut off by The Wyatts. So begins one of the most intense standoffs in RAW history as both trios take a side of the ring. Like pieces in a chess game they move one step forward at a time, until Roman dares the Wyatts to get in to the ring with him. Bray almost does so.. but then on second thought, backs away. Taking his cohorts with him. Ambrose and Rollins join Reigns in the ring and stand ground as The Wyatts back off. Chills.

With their issues seemingly behind them The Shield headed in to RAW to face a team of Mysterio, Kofi Kingston and Big E Langston. But the threat of the Wyatt Family was most definitely looming in the air as recaps played of the match made this past Friday night. Ambrose and Langston started things out and Dean was temporarily grounded by the big man and hauled to the corner for a tag in to Kofi, Dean made his comeback and tagged out to Rollins, the two high fliers setting up a fast pace. After a few weeks of problems all three members seemed to be back on the same page and worked seamlessly to isolate Mysterio, however as per usual things began to break down and after Roman received a nasty cut to his face courtesy of Langston (Is he trying to destroy The Shields faces?), Reigns was ready to take him down with his Spear when Ambrose tagged himself in! Dean quickly hit Langston with his Headlock Driver and picked up the win for the team – but Roman wasn’t happy. Once again the cracks began to show as Ambrose and Reigns squared off in the middle of the ring, but peacemaker Rollins wasn’t far behind. Getting in between the two and reminding them a wins a win. Tempers cooled only for them to be interrupted by the Wyatts with another chilling message.

Later on in the night as The Wyatts picked up a victory in a 6 Man Tag, The Shield took their opportunity to send their own message. Ambrose appearing on the Titantron with waving spooky fingers at them, oooooh, scary. He informs the Wyatts that they live in the real world and don’t believe in any of their hocus pocus mumbo jumbo crap! So they can just take it elswhere. Rollins tells them they’re figments of their own imagination and The Shield don’t play those games, while Roman reminds us all to Believe. The trio show their unity once more – but Bray says he welcomes this war. I have a feeling it’s going to get messy.

Even with the WWE Universe roaring its approval, though, speaking up against the corporate power has never done anyone much good in WWE, and so it was that Bryan was soon besieged by The Shield, who The Authority was all too happy to sic on the besieged fan favorite. It took Sheamus to help give Bryan a fighting shot, and, finally, John Cena to even the odds enough that The Hounds of Justice beat a hasty retreat. To top it all off, Bryan might get what he wants yet: As a result of the melee, he, Cena & Sheamus were confirmed to face The Shield in Raw’s main event, and the winners would be headed into the Elimination Chamber.

Danel Bryan, John Cena & Sheamus punched their tickets to the Elimination Chamber by beating The Shield to earn their way into the match, though they do owe the win to a surprising, DQ-inducing interference.

After a tight back-and-forth in the opening, The Shield trapped Cena in the numbers game, and Roman Reigns providing the exclamation point via Superman punch; Seth Rollins followed up by knocking Bryan off the apron and attempting to bait Sheamus into an illegal bum-rush of the ring. Cena managed to create separation with an Attitude Adjustment to Dean Ambrose, at which point he finally – finally – found Bryan for the tag. The submission master immediately went to work, hacking away at Seth Rollins until Reigns and Ambrose tried to instigate a brawl to throw off the match.

Cena & Sheamus neutralized the threat, leaving Rollins and Bryan to brawl it out. Which they did, extensively, to such a degree that Cena and Reigns had to tag in. The big man immediately fell to the STF and was about to break the hold when – they’re here – The Wyatts crashed the party for the second time in consecutive evenings. Without warning, the outlandish trio laid into Cena, delivering the win to his squad in the process. In other words, “YES!”, WWE Universe: Daniel Bryan is headed to the Elimination Chamber. As for The Shield? Their road to WrestleMania just got a little bit rockier.

What tension? The Shield – seemingly on shaky terms last Friday during SmackDown – looked as dominant as ever on Raw, mauling Cody Rhodes, Goldust & Big E Lansgston into defeat in what may be among their finest Six-Man Tag Team showings. That the bout ended in victory was something of a surprise for The Hounds of Justice, though, because the three champions seemed to have The Shield’s number from the jump-off.

Emulating their opponents’ numbers-game strategy, Langston & “The Brotherhood” sequestered Seth Rollins from his teammates and went to town on the men in black’s resident strategist, to the tune of a soaring cross body by Cody Rhodes to the outside. Roman Reigns got the Hounds rolling again, though a Disaster Kick and a fresh tag from Big E cut the comeback short. Langston had Dean Ambrose all to himself, and if not for timely interferences by all three Shield-mates, the bout might have ended in his favor. Alas, it was Rollins who won the day, capitalizing off a timely knee to Big E’s gut from Ambrose by stomping Langston’s head flat into the canvas.

After a few weeks of uncertainty and tension in The Shield it seems that despite the unfortunate incident with the snake thats best left in the past – the trio have well and truly gotten their mojo back. With a decisive victory on Smackdown, they walked in confident to RAW for another bout against Punk and the New Age Outlaws who were perhaps looking for retribution after their defeat on Friday night. However it wasn’t to be as The Shield proved once again this is about the future and not the past, controlling much of the match up until a showdown between Ambrose and Punk threatened to derail things. Ambrose’ anger over Punk certainly hasn’t lessened any and he threatened to lose his cool as the two faced off, only for Rollins to get him out of there and get things back on track. All three members went on to isolate Punk in their corner until a surge of adrenaline got Punk moving to tag out – only to be abandoned by his partners! Road Dogg and Billy Gunn heading for the hills and leaving Punk in the rabid jaws of The Shield.

Despite his best efforts, a distraction by Rollins and Ambrose led Punk straight in to a spear from Reigns. Game over. But the three headed threat didn’t leave it at that, picking up Punk after the bell hailed their victory and hitting him with their trademark Triple Powerbomb. Just putting the exclamation point in it! Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns were all smiles as they left ringside, and rightly so.

It’s a special night on the WWE Calendar as RAW celebrates it’s roots and revisits characters from the past, it’s always fun to see who turns up and on this night it would be an extra special night for Ambrose. Those of you that have followed his career will know names like Roddy Piper and Jake Roberts inspired him from a young age to get in to the business, so tonight must have been a defining moment for him as The Shield walked on to the set of Pipers Pit and Ambrose got to go toe to toe with the Rowdy one himself. However it wasn’t to be a respectful and fun filled exchange as Ambrose immediately got in Pipers face and asked the crowd who gave an old man a microphone, nobody is interested in his ramblings. Piper should be thanking God The Shield weren’t around in his heyday else he might not have made it to 112. Oooh, shots fired! However Pipers quick with the comeback, informing Dean nobody gave him the mic, he took it and this is Pipers Pit, not Ambrose Alley. Oh lordy.

Piper gets right back in Deans face and tells him theres only one guy that can match him on the microphone an his name.. is CM Punk. If looks could kill Roddy Piper would be having a eulogy written right now. Ambrose’ temper quickly flaring as he crowd begins to chant Punks name. Ambrose tells Piper to tread lightly and Rollins quickly steps in to douse the flames. Telling Piper the tactics wont work, theres no cracks in The Shield. Piper tells them he knows something for sure, one on one, neither Seth nor Dean could beat Punk. He leans in and pinches Romans cheek, a risky move, but if he beats Punk tonight does that make Roman better than Dean and Seth?

Piper continues to taunt Roman and the powerhouse fires back, telling Roddy to get out of his face or he’d snap his old ass in half. The Shield close in and Roddy’s in a bad part of town until CM Punk and the New Age Outlaws come to the rescue! Clearing house, The Shield angrily flee.

Later on in the night Rollins and Ambrose accompany Reigns to his match against Punk. Punk brings backup in the form of the Outlaws and their presence renders Ambrose and Rollins’ effect on the outcome minimal. However after a hard fought battle, it is an eventual distraction by Ambrose that buys Roman the split second he needs to take down Punk with the Spear. Finally getting a Shield win over Punk… but what does that mean? Ambrose and Rollins don’t seem bothered by it and congratulate their partner, about to set him up for their Triple Powerbomb when music not heard in many years hits the PA and oldies like me weep with joy as Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts walks down the ramp. The Outlaws and Punk quickly dispatch of Rollins and Reigns and Ambrose is scooped up in to a GTS and dropped on the mat. Jake Roberts tugs Damien from his bag and smothers Ambrose with the huge python! Oh come on, you couldn’t miss the smile. Someone was in fanboy heaven. Along with the rest of us.

RAW closed out on the iconic image of Roberts and his legendary snake standing over Ambrose. The two baddest men in wrestling, past and present. Believe that.

After a year in which The Shield dominated WWE programming it seems as though the stress is finally starting to get them as they start out the final RAW of 2013. With CM Punk declaring them the face of the WWE over the past year, he all but calls the trio out and they respond in a heartbeat, Ambrose leading the charge and seemingly in the baddest of bad moods as he heads to the ring to face his Waterloo – the man he seemingly can’t beat, CM Punk. Ambrose instantly gets in Punks face when he declares he wants to face the best of The Shield. Stating he’ll beat Punk right here and now no questions asked, but unfortunately for moody Dean, Punk all but laughs in his face. Telling him he’s already beaten him more times than he can count he knows who the ‘weak link’ is and wants to face the real best of The Shield.

This sends Dean in to a fury and he has to be held back by Reigns, however its Rollins that steps up and says he’s the best, he’ll face Punk. At this, Roman steps in, taking exception and Punk agrees, all the talk and hype seems to be about Roman Reigns these days therefore he must be the best member of The Shield. Rollins and Ambrose both disagree, leading to a full on bickerfest between the trip that Punk gleefully sits back and watches, until Maddox comes out and declares Punk will indeed face Rollins.

A further enraged Dean seethes quietly, while Roman huffs and puffs his way out of the ring. The two staying ringside as Seth takes on Punk. Another fast and furious match up however outside the ring, the real dramas happening as Ambrose works himself in to a worse and worse mood. Pacing, chewing his nails, kicking things and looking increasingly tormented by the fact he hasn’t been able to beat Punk and now he’s been called the weak link. He takes every opportunity he can to get in Punks face, including a vital and accidental distraction of the referee, costing Seth a pin attempt. As the Trio again begin to argue and a clearly frustrated and antsy Ambrose kicks the announce table and paces, Punk takes his chance and tosses Rollins over the ropes in to them. All three a crumpled heap on the floor. Rollins picks himself up but it’s all too much, Punk scoops him up in the GTS and it’s game over.

Roman returns to the ring to pick up Seth, but Ambrose stays outside, crouching against the barrier and rocking while chewing the skin from his fingers. Uh oh, we think he’s about to snap.

It’s a busy busy Christmas eve and I’ve been stuck wrapping gifts and making food, so heres a quick WWE.com rundown of events! Happy Christmas!

If anyone can break The Shield, it’s two strongmen and The Best in the World. Yet, while the all-star trio of John Cena, CM Punk & Big E Langston didn’t hand The Hounds of Justice a Christmas loss per se — The Shield are still too tough to take out quite so easily — they left the men in black frostbit all the same. It was momentarily touch-and-go for Cena & Co. after strong start by the Cenation leader was undone by Roman Reigns, who initiated the numbers game against the 11-time WWE Champion. Punk similarly struggled with The Hounds’ strategy, and the X-factor turned out to ultimately be Big E.

Summoned by Punk when all seemed lost, Langston thundered through the ranks of The Shield and — with assistance from his teammates — struck United States Champion Dean Ambrose with the Big Ending, but The Hounds swarmed the three-count and stopped the bout via disqualifcation. The three villains set Langston up for a Triple Powerbomb that would send him to the South Pole, yet Cena and Punk were having none of it, dragging Reigns through the ropes and capitalizing on a Langston double-clothesline to Ambrose & Rollins with an Attitude Adjustment-Go to Sleep combo to end the holiday season on a high note.

And hey, Santa didn’t get run over this year. It truly is a Christmas miracle.

After the disaster that was TLC, there was much speculation that The Shield would not be on the same page for Monday Night RAW. Many expected the much talked about ‘cracks’ to be showing in full force, with blame being hurled left and right. But that wasn’t to be the case, instead The Shield walked in to battle against CM Punk and The Usos once again a united front. Well accidents happen, don’t they. Brothers forgive each other and they move on.

That being said, they were determined not to pick up another loss to Punk and went to war, dominating The Usos throughout the match and once again on the same page. A hot tag to Punk upped the ante and Ambrose once again found himself on the receiving end of Punks whirlwind offense, but this time Roman saved the day and broke up a pin attempt. The Usos attempted to take Roman out and the action spilled to the outside while Ambrose fought it out with Punk, a blind tag to Roman was Punk’s undoing as he hit Ambrose with the GTS but didn’t see the deadly spear coming. Roman picking up the win for the team. The Shield leaving once again united.. and a bit bruised and bloody.
