Hot off of the grueling 2 week long European tour, Dean and team RAW return to the USA and Trenton, New Jersey where he’s set to defend his Intercontinental Championship against long time rival, The Miz. The Miz is always an unpredictable adversary with the X Factor of Maryse in his corner, which means Dean is doubly on his guard and tonight it works out in his favor.. kinda. Early in the match Miz uses stalling tactics to get the advantage, before Dean picks up the pace and fights back, his usual hectic style sending The Miz reeling once again. Maryse attempts to get involved and save her husband from a flying elbow from the top turnbuckle to the outside, but Dean gives her the count of three and jumps anyway! This sends Maryse into a fury and she again attempts to distract Dean while Miz sneaks up behind him and goes to deliver a low blow. But sensing something amiss, Dean catches Miz’s fist before it can strike and asks him just what the hell he thinks he’s doing, before delivering a swift boot of his own to The Miz’s prized jewels. Oh, ouch. Dean’s instantly disqualified despite The Miz attempting to do it first.. but never fear, Dean retains his Championship nevertheless.

Later on in the night The Miz complains to Kurt Angle about Dean getting DQ’d. Kurt makes a match for Extreme Rules involving, well, no Extreme Rules! In fact if Dean gets DQ’d, he loses the title! Best behavior at the most extreme Pay Per View of the year, then? Errrr. Here’s what WWE.com had to say!

The Miz’s tendency to get people riled up to the point of a blind, frothing rage didn’t just land him on the wrong end of a Dean Ambrose beating — it cost him the Intercontinental Championship.

Granted, Miz technically won the match, but The Lunatic Fringe’s excessive aggression was such that the ref was forced to throw out the contest, handing Miz the disqualification victory but allowing Ambrose to retain the title via champion’s advantage.

It was a surprising ending to a match that had been a dead heat from the word jump, and things only took a turn when Maryse distracted the ref while Miz wound up for a massive low-blow on The Lunatic Fringe. Ambrose intercepted the attack and replied in kind with a Charlie Brown boot to The A-Lister’s nether regions, only this time the ref was watching, and Ambrose was disqualified as a result.

Luckily for Miz, Kurt Angle was willing to give him another opportunity at the title at WWE Extreme Rules, but The A-Lister demanded, and received, further consideration, cajoling The Olympic Hero into adding the stipulation that the title can change hands via disqualification. The confrontation got a bit more heated than expected, but the reappearance of Elias Samson was enough to diffuse the tension.

LONDON — Oh, it’s true: Raw General Manager Kurt Angle was apparently so impressed with Dean Ambrose’s matchmaking suggestions last week that he named the Intercontinental Champion as his acting replacement during the opening minutes of Raw’s international stopover in London.

Ambrose had to contend with opposition almost immediately when his No. 1 contender, The Miz, arrived and revealed that Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon had named him Co-Acting General Manager in order to mitigate Ambrose’s unpredictability, but The Lunatic Fringe quickly proved his management skills were still beyond reproach. When a returning Kalisto confronted a sling-bound Braun Strowman, The Monster Among Men claimed he could defeat The King of Flight with one good arm if he so desired, so Ambrose gave Strowman the opportunity to prove it in a match later that night. On top of that, The Lunatic Fringe even managed to get one up on his trash-talking No. 1 contender by declaring Miz would face Finn Bálor in the night’s first match.

Finn Balor Vs The Miz: Miz almost finagled a disqualification win for himself when he threw Bálor into the referee, after which The A-Lister used his Co-Acting General Manager powers to disqualify his opponent. But Dean Ambrose quickly overruled the decision, had the match restarted and banned Maryse from ringside. With Miz’s security blanket gone, Bálor made quick work of him, pouncing with a Sling Blade and sealing the deal with a Coup de Grâce.

Earlier in the night, Dean Ambrose used his matchmaking abilities to feed The Miz to Finn Bálor. Well, The A-Lister didn’t just end the evening with one leg up on Ambrose, he ended it with two: Not only did Raw General Manager Kurt Angle move Miz’s Intercontinental Championship Match to next week from its originally assumed time at WWE Extreme Rules, but The A-Lister used some matchmaking savvy of his own to pit Ambrose against Bray Wyatt in Raw’s main event.

Awesome if you’re Miz, not so much if you’re Ambrose: The Reaper of Souls was all over his longtime foe, and when the Intercontinental Champion gained some momentum, Miz got involved, sauntering down from commentary to mug with the Intercontinental Title itself and, eventually, hit Ambrose in the back with it out of the official’s sight.

Wyatt hit Sister Abigail to defeat Ambrose moments later, but Miz got the last word, raking Ambrose’s face in a post-match beatdown before promising to reclaim the title and once again usher in an era of awesomeness.

Dean took on a new role on RAW tonight, or a handful of new roles even. Creating matches and doing interviews! As Finn Balor and Seth Rollins bicker in the ring about who should be next in line for the Universal Championship, Dean interrupts to tell them the only championship they should be worrying about is the Intercontinental Championship – being as the Universal Champion can’t be bothered to show up much. Miz interrupts Dean and declares he’s the only one deserving of any shots at anything, and Dean, Seth and Finn tell him to shut up. Dean then calls the General Manager Kurt Angle and makes a match. Rollins Vs Miz Vs Balor for the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contendership!

Match made, Dean gets himself into interviewer mode and tracks down all three of his would be opponents to give them a little Q&A. ‘Mean Dean’ Ambrose on the scene. Miz ignores his questions, Seth Rollins tells Dean he’s got a few new tricks up his sleeve and Finn Balor? Finn Balor gets given some carbs (a donut) because his abs are out of control.

It’s The Miz that goes on to win the Triple Threat main event. So it looks like Dean is gearing up to tangle with the A Lister one more time! Here’s what WWE.com had to say.

With Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor both impressing last night at WWE Payback, the field for the Universal Championship has suddenly gotten very crowded.

Both Superstars made it very apparent that their long-term goal is to challenge Brock Lesnar for Raw’s resident heavyweight title, as The Architect has never won it and Bálor was forced to relinquish it due to injury just 24 hours after becoming the first-ever Universal Champion.

Dean Ambrose was quick to break up the confab, claiming that he, as Intercontinental Champion, held the No. 1 prize on Raw and would be happy to defend it against either Seth or Finn. That brought out The Miz, who once again ran Ambrose down for The Lunatic Fringe’s perceived slights against what became Miz’s signature championship over the last year. So, Ambrose devised a simple solution: He called Raw General Manager Kurt Angle from the ring and got him to sanction a Triple Threat Match tonight between Rollins, Bálor and Miz, with the winner to be named his No. 1 contender.

What’s a guy gotta do to get through a talk show around here? Chris Jericho’s planned “Highlight Reel” discussion of his United States Title rematch with Kevin Owens — a match that will send him to SmackDown LIVE if he wins, for what it’s worth — was interrupted not once, but twice, by Superstars looking to take over the proceedings.

First, The Miz swooped in and immediately transformed “The Highlight Reel” into “Miz TV” so he could interview Jericho, but Dean Ambrose was hot on his heels to flip “Miz TV” into “The Ambrose Asylum.” And, to his credit, Ambrose remembered he owed Jericho a jacket, so he brought the G.O.A.T. a peace offering of a homemade, Christmas light-spangled replacement. (The destruction of Mitch the Plant and Ambrose’s lingering $15,000 debt to Jericho apparently cancelled each other out.)

When Miz tried (unsuccessfully) to stop Jericho from trying it on, maaaannnnnn, and started bemoaning Dean’s supposed sullying of the Intercontinental Title and complaining that he didn’t get a gift, Ambrose hit him with Dirty Deeds and Jericho put Maryse on The List for being married to The Miz. Harsh.

The bad news for The Miz is that he’s already alienated everyone on Raw to such a degree that only one person wanted to be his tag team partner against talk-show foes Dean Ambrose & Chris Jericho in a Kurt Angle-organized main event. The good news is that that one man was … Elias Samson? Nah, Miz doesn’t even know him, despite a brief backstage interaction. It was, apparently, Bray Wyatt.

Granted, The Reaper of Souls waited until about halfway into the match to actually show up, leaving Miz to suffer a 2-on-1 mugging for more time than he probably would have preferred. But the former WWE Champion more than made up for the delay, saving Miz from a trip through the commentary table, Sister Abigail’ing Ambrose into the LED board and leading a 2-on-1 beatdown of Chris Jericho that ended the match without an official announcement.

Once Jericho had been hauled into the ring, Wyatt feasted upon his foe with Sister Abigail, but he wasn’t interested in sharing the glory: When Miz tried to mug with The Eater of Worlds after the match, Wyatt turned on The A-Lister and subjected him to a Sister Abigail of his own. Miz did say his partner had a flair for the dramatic. Maybe it was Wyatt after all.

So it’s back to the Monday Night RAW grind for Dean, and back into a battle of words with an old antagonist, the Miz. It seems as though the Miz is still a little salty about Dean taking the Intercontinental Championship from him over 100 days ago, and would like another shot at getting it back. So Miz does what he does best and rambles until Dean interrupts to bring the fight to him – but first he takes a moment to play to his home state crowd of Ohio. Once that’s done, Dean answers Miz’s accusations with a declaration that he doesn’t care about what people say or what they think of him, he doesn’t care for fancy suits and being a ‘brand’.. he just loves to do what he does. The blood sweat and tears, the miles on the road and the hours on the clock. Unlike The Miz, he isn’t trying to be ‘hollywood’, he’s just Dean Ambrose. At this point Maryse steps in to protect her husband from the scourge of Dean’s words and he puts her in her place too. eventually shedding his jacket, Dean takes down The Miz and only with distraction from Maryse, does Miz escape with all of his teeth still in his head.

This is one feud that didn’t end on the blue brand. Here’s what WWE.com had to say!

The Miz is back on Raw, which means “Miz TV” has come with him. And for his first guest, The A-Lister hosted fellow Superstar Shake-up ship-jumper Dean Ambrose, who welcomed Miz to Raw last week by planting him with Dirty Deeds.

The Lunatic Fringe wasn’t flustered by Miz’s various insults, including but not limited to The Awesome One’s claim that Ambrose was too lazy to shatter the glass ceiling, retorting simply that his record and reputation speak for themselves.

But then, Maryse made the mistake of insinuating that Ambrose was too much of a “boy” to take the Intercontinental Championship to the same heights Miz himself had before The Lunatic Fringe defeated him for it. So, Ambrose tackled Miz to the ground and mauled him relentlessly; The A-Lister only got away when Maryse whacked Ambrose on the back with a microphone and gave Miz a moment to escape.

The very first of the Superstar Shakeup Shockers involved our own Dean Ambrose, as he was traded to RAW alongside The Miz and Maryse to open the show. Despite Dean mistaking them for John Cena and Nikki Bella, he soon found out who he was really talking to and once he knew it was The Miz, he nailed him with a Dirty Deeds. Ooops. Later on in the night, Dean faced old enemy Kevin Owens and defeated him to make his comeback to the red brand a success. More trades tomorrow, who will Dean be mingling with on Team RAW? Here’s what WWE.com had to say.

On day one, minute one of the much-ballyhooed Superstar Shake-up, Monday Night Raw kicked things off by debuting a major acquisition from SmackDown LIVE… AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CE — oh, wait, it’s The Miz.

Reprising his Cena impression from the last few weeks of SmackDown LIVE, The Awesome One came to Raw with Maryse-as-Nikki Bella in tow and delivered some A-list roasting of The Cenation Leader until another Raw signee, Dean Ambrose, came down to talk some trash of his own.

The reigning Intercontinental Champion seemed fooled by Miz’s impression at first, talking to The A-Lister as if he actually was Cena and even offering his congratulations for defeating Miz & Maryse (“Those two are the worst”) at WrestleMania. But once Miz removed all his Cena garb and screamed that he was, in fact, The Miz, Ambrose hit him with Dirty Deeds. Like you thought that would end any other way.

Superstar Shake-up or not, Monday Night Raw is still The Kevin Owens Show, and the U.S. Champion will not take a backseat to the arrival of a new star like Dean Ambrose. Unfortunately, however, he might end up having to make do. The non-title Champion vs. Champion bout pitting “The Face of America” against The Lunatic Fringe ended with the curtain falling on KO’s head.

All of this was fairly unexpected because Owens was having his way with the Intercontinental Champion and showed no signs of stopping early in the bout. A trip to Chinlock City and a straight-up heave-ho, ribs-first into the turnbuckle left Ambrose gasping for air and Owens with a perfect target that he did not skimp on punishing.

Ambrose managed to maneuver his way into planting Owens with Dirty Deeds to seal the match, but The Prizefighter’s night was far from over.

Chris Jericho made his presence known, blasting Owens with a Codebreaker as some retribution for getting put through a table last week. It wasn’t capital-P Payback just yet (that’s in a few weeks), but it was definitely a start. Shane, Daniel? You’re up.

Yes, you read that right. Dean’s back on RAW for one night only as Team Blue arrive to defend their GM’s on RAW’s turf. Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, AJ Styles and Randy Orton (along with James Ellsworth) arriving by surprise after Stephanie McMahon sets Team RAW on Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan. It led to a verbal showdown between the two brands teams, that ended when Dean decided less talk and more action was the way to go – attacking Chris Jericho. The two sides brawled until eventually team Smackdown had to retreat, but they got their message across and rescued their bosses from a beatdown, so I’d call it a successful night.

Last week Dean threw down the gauntlet to the ever mouthy Seth Rollins and this week he heads in to battle with his arch nemesis for the WWE Championship. The whole landscape of the WWE is due to change with the upcoming draft, and Dean’s hell bent on being Champion heading in to it. While Rollins cuts a lengthy promo roaming around an empty arena and asserting once again his ‘right’ to the WWE Championship (psh, wrestling owes you nothing, Seth) .. Dean takes it back to the beginning. Addressing the WWE Universe from a dingy basement via handheld camera in a throwback to the Shield. He said then that they’d arrived to take over the business, and here they are, fighting over the WWE Championship years later. No matter the outcome, they’ve lived up to their promises.

The main event rolls around and it’s everything we’ve come to expect from an Ambrose Vs Rollins matchup. The boiling tension between the two as always spilling over and knowing one anothers playbooks inside out leading to some intense back and forth. So much so, that an eventual suplex off of the top turnbuckles leads to both men with their shoulders down and a three count with no clear winner. That being the case, the match is declared a draw. Dean retains the Championship as we head in to the draft. But we know he’d rather have had the decisive victory. Either way, the gold stays his.

The good news first, if you’re a Dean Ambrose fan: The Lunatic Fringe is still WWE Champion. The good news second, if you’re a Seth Rollins fan: The Architect fought like hell to wrest the supreme championship from his former Shield ally. Rollins took Ambrose to both the physical limit and the time limit in a match that spilled into a WWE Network overrun after a disputed pinfall left the match with an unclear victor.

Things ended far more decisively in the extra innings, so to speak, when the referee went to the tape and ruled the match a double-pin draw. Ambrose ultimately got the better of Rollins when The Architect attempted to ambush him with the title, meaning he’ll walk into WWE Battleground as champion. And lastly, the good news if you’re a Roman Reigns fan: He’s back Sunday. And that could be very, very bad news for the other two.

Another week another dastardly scheme from Seth Rollins. But this week Dean ain’t playing anymore. Fun and games time is over and he’s done enjoying his victory, it’s time to get serious and if Seth Rollins thinks he’s only got to worry about Roman at Battleground he’s got another thing coming. The switch is flipped and it’s time for Rollins to remember just who he is dealing with. Seth knows what Dean’s capable of, the depths he’ll go to, the muck he’ll crawl through, the blood he’ll spill just to get his hands on the WWE Championship and be ‘the man’.. what exactly does he think is going to happen now Dean actually has the title in his grasp? He’s not going to let it out of his grasp, in fact he tells Rollins he’ll have to pry it from his cold dead fingers first. He means business, and he tells Seth exactly what he thinks of him and his cheating, weasly tactics. Rollins makes a hasty retreat, but takes Dean’s offer of a one on one Championship match on next weeks RAW. Ambrose has something to prove, and he’s got Rollins shaken. Here’s WWE.coms review.

Looks like one of the unspoken side goals of Seth Rollins’ “Redesign, Rebuild, Reclaim” mantra was “Get Your Own Talk Show,” because after some political maneuvering among the McMahons, The Architect debuted his very own variety program, “The Rollins Report,” on Raw. Seth’s selling point to Shane and Stephanie McMahon was an earthshaking exclusive from Roman Reigns, but “The Man’s” scoop turned out to be a bunch of doctored footage assembled to further tarnish the suspended Reigns.

Enter Dean Ambrose, who did what he does best and riled Rollins into a frenzy, only this time Seth turned it around, hurling insults that lathered The Lunatic Fringe into a frothing rage. Not only that, but Rollins got something even sweeter out of the exchange: When Ambrose snarled that he’d accept a one-on-one challenge at any point for his WWE Championship, Rollins laid one down for next week’s Raw.

Hot off the tail of the Japan tour, Dean graces the 4th of July RAW with his presence in a rematch against Intercontinental Champion Miz, who he bested already on Smackdown. As if The Miz thought anything might go any differently on RAW, he once again eats defeat at the hands of Dean and his Dirty Deeds, giving him a little more momentum heading in to Battleground. However as Dean goes to leave the ring, he’s interrupted by nemesis Seth Rollins. Dean passes him without incident, even giving him an unexpected pat on the back. But he can’t leave it at that. Running back to the ring, Dean swerves Seth and heads for the announce desk! Briefly showing off his Spanish skills with the Spanish announce team, before joining JBL and Cole to offer his insight on Seths match against Ziggler. He notes that Seths a very angry, tense person. He could use a better attitude.

Seth is victorious, and immediately takes to the announce tables to shout about it. Launching in to a tirade about Roman Reigns, Dean doesn’t listen for long. Getting up and stopping Seth in his tracks, with a beat down he wont forget for a while! All in all, a successful round of July 4th fireworks. Here’s what WWE.com had to say!

Dean Ambrose def. The Miz

You can now count egg among the many types of food on The Miz’s face this Fourth of July: Not only did the Intercontinental Champion get owned in the world’s largest food fight, but he was feasted upon by Dean Ambrose in a Champion vs. Champion Match that featured no shortage of July 4 fireworks. Riding a wave of hometown support, Ambrose started strong and finished even stronger, rallying from a banged-up knee and a late-game surge from The A-Lister to escape the Figure-Four Leglock and hit Dirty Deeds for the win.

Ambrose wasn’t out of the woods, however, as Seth Rollins arrived for his match while The Lunatic Fringe was celebrating. The Architect’s presence looked, at first, like it was going to incite Ambrose into a rage, but it turns out all The Lunatic Fringe wanted to do was stick around on commentary. The Spanish commentary, no less. Now that’s a swerve.

Seth Rollins Vs Dolph Ziggler – Dean Ambrose on Commentary

So Seth Rollins is not letting this whole Roman Reigns controversy go quietly. Nor, for that matter, is he about to let Dean Ambrose overshadow him in the lead-up to the winner-take-all Triple Threat Match at WWE Battleground: Moments after Ambrose dispatched The Miz in a Champion vs. Champion Match, Rollins scored a victory of his own over Dolph Ziggler with The Lunatic Fringe on commentary. He had to shake off a mighty impressive performance by The Showoff to do it, but do it he did, kicking out of a superkick and shaking off a Zig Zag to land the Pedigree.

Rollins saved his most savage attack, however, for the still-absent Reigns, demanding that the WWE Universe boo The Big Dog as payback for his recent suspension. His insults toward Ambrose were met with a little more resistance from their target, however; The Lunatic Fringe tossed his title in Rollins’ face and delivered Dirty Deeds atop the Spanish commentary table. Qué pena.
