Earning high praise from independent companies around the world, he became a household name for the hardcore, holding championship gold in companies such as Combat Zone Wrestling. With his name capturing the attention of wrestling fans across the globe, Jon soon earned a developmental contract with the WWE. He then took on the name of Dean Ambrose and began the process of cementing his name in stone. Feuding with William Regal and Seth Rollins most notably on NXT, Ambrose went on to make his much anticipated main roster debut at Survivor Series 2012, coming in alongside Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to make a massive impact in the main event, aiding CM Punk in retaining his WWE Championship. The Shield tore an unstoppable path through the WWE for over a year before going their separate ways and into singles competition. Dean first went after Shield traitor Seth Rollins for revenge, and then on to win Intercontinental and WWE World Heavyweight Gold. After over a year of animosity, Regal and Ambrose finally entered into their ultimate showdown on this episode of FCW and it does not disappoint. Believe me there is very little I can do in a review to describe the genius of this match. From psychology through to the downright brutality of it, you’re better off watching than reading anything I have to say, but if you dont have time just yet here’s a quick rundown of the action.

Ambrose was out first with a kind of maniacal look on his face saved normally for psycho horror flicks, something that didnt bode well for Regal who made his way out without flinching. The pair squared off and circled one another for some time before Regal went straight for the shoulder he injured a year ago. Immediately working on that and controlling Dean for the opening of the match up. However, Ambrose has never been one to quit or lay down and die, sucking up pain like a sponge and powering through. Regal went on to employ the kinds of sneaky, dirty tactics Ambrose is usually known for. Would it be a case of age over youth? The tides started to turn however as our favorite American Psycho began to laugh and taunt his way through Regals torture. Taking things to the outside, Regal tortured Dean, trapping him with the ring steps before Ambrose sent Regal crashing headfirst into the ringpost, dazing him and giving Dean enough to time go Martin Riggs his shoulder again back inside the ring.

With Regal dazed, Ambrose came back like pitbull let off it’s chain. There was nothing especially fancy about his offense, but it sure got the job done. Returning Regal to the turnbuckles (one of which Ambrose had removed the pad from earlier) Dean proceeded to assault his nemesis with a series of knees to the head. Regals face met steel and Ambrose drew first blood. With trainers attempting to get Regal to stop so they could tend to him, the ornery Englishman flatly refused and attempted to attack, only couldnt find his feet. Seemed like Ambrose had knocked the sense out of him. With the trainers restraining Regal, Ambrose took the chance to attempt an attack, only for Regal on pure gut instinct to tear himself free of restraint and hit Dean with a forearm best saved for the streets rather than a wrestling ring. Both men out on the mat, trainers flooded the ring while a “Let them fight” chant broke out amongst fans.

With Ambrose pacing and assaulting Officials, the bell was rung and the match was stopped. Naturally this didnt sit well with him so he took his ire out on officials.. and the locker room.. and anybody else that felt like crossing his path (why would you?). Clearing the ring and leaving him alone with Regal once more, he commenced a further assault on the KO’d Superstar, wrapping him up in his own ‘Regal Stretch’ before ripping off his knee pad and threatening to take Regal out for good. William got to his knees and began to applaud… is he out of his mind? Ambrose took the proverbial horse too the back of the barn and put him out of his misery, before the FCW locker room flooded the ring entirely too late to stop the damage being done.
