After an eventful night at Hell In A Cell in which Rollins and Reigns failed to recapture the Tag Team Championships and Ambrose retained his but only via a count out when he walked out on the match, Dean finds himself thrown in to a rematch against Big E Langston. Something we find out about via promo early on in RAW. A promo in which Dean drums in the fact that he is the only title holder in The Shield being as Rollins and Reigns failed to reclaim the Tag Team Championships.

Crickets.

Dean may have just put his foot in it as far as his partners go, the looks on Rollins and Reigns’ faces less than pleased with the implication they couldn’t get the job done. But Ambrose insisted The Shield remained unbreakable and despite a glare from his cohorts, Reigns repeated the mantra. Believe In The Shield.

Rollins and Reigns went on to accompany Dean to ringside for his match and paced the outside as Dean and Langston tied up, Ambrose holding his own against the ‘rookie’ but it once again seemed like Langstons power might be getting the better of him, that is until Roman pulled down the top rope as Langston ran it and sent Big E tumbling to the outside. Rollins and Reigns quickly pounced on the challenger and Ambrose was disqualified, keeping the United States Championship safe inside The Shield for now. However General Manager Brad Maddox wasn’t happy about this and quickly scheduled a 6 Man Tag as The Usos ran to Langstons aid.

It was a relatively short match as their usual 6 man turmoils go, with The Usos and Langston putting up a good fight against The Shield, however things swiftly broke down as they tend to do and with Ambrose and Rollins out on the outside, Roman speared the life out of both Usos and made the pin to get the win for the team. Ambrose and Rollins joined him, Ambrose holding his title belt triumphantly in the air. The interesting point here was not the victory – it was the way Roman and Seth looked at him as he gloated proudly with his belt. I sense a little jealousy, boys? Don’t have sour grapes now, you can’t all be the best.

United States Champion Dean Ambrose left WWE Hell in a Cell Sunday night with the title in his possession after being counted out against challenger Big E Langston. However, neither Superstar would leave “Hell” unscathed.

During their extremely physical battle, the enormous Langston looked to level Ambrose with a monstrous clothesline, resulting in a devastating head-to-head collision. The effects of the encounter quickly became evident during the bout, and after the match the challenger required 7 stitches underneath his right eye, while Ambrose received 8 stitches under his chin.

After calling out United States Champion Dean Ambrose during the WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff, Big E Langston certainly proved he was a formidable contender in a brutal contest that ultimately ended with The Hound of Justice intentionally getting counted out to retain the title.

Initially, Ambrose was reluctant to accept Big E’s challenge and for good reason. As the opening bell sounded, Langston immediately used his power to take down Dean Ambrose and score two near-falls. Eager to assert his dominance, Langston remained relentless in his assault on The Hound of Justice. Although Ambrose tried to take advantage with brutal knife edge chops, his massive opponent seemed unfazed and continued to use his strength to his advantage.

The United States Champion found some relief by wrangling his opponent to the outside and using both the ring ropes and steel post to his advantage. With Langston dazed, Ambrose methodically utilized his unorthodox grappling style to keep Big E reeling.

Nevertheless, Langston displayed a great deal of resilience, fending off a couple of attempted sleeper holds and shifting the match back in his favor. Continuing to mount the pressure on the Shield member with high-impact maneuvers, Ambrose tried to walk away from the contest. Big E Langston wasn’t going to let The Hound of Justice escape so easily, however, and he ensured that the clash continue back inside the ring.

Battling back and forth, Langston executed a huge spear through the ropes as Ambrose stood on the ring apron. Both competitors – wounded and battered from the physical contest – tried to recuperate on the outside as the official began to count. Langston was the first to regain his composure and make his way back inside the ring, followed by Ambrose, who staggered to his feet, realized he could escape with the U.S. Title intact, and purposely allowed the official to count him out.

Although Langston was declared victorious, Ambrose grabbed the U.S. Championship and tried to leave the arena. But, before he could escape, Big E captured the champion and executed his patented Big Ending before holding the U.S. Title high for the WWE Universe to see.

Ambrose stepped in to action alongside Rollins, Reigns and Orton to take on the oddly pieces together team of Goldust, Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan and… Big E Langston? Quite what he has to do with anything is beyond me but apparently the ‘good guys’ are looking for some muscle to add to their weak arsenal (#Heel). Ambrose started things out against Rhodes and despite Rhodes’ best efforts wasn’t able to get one over on Dean and tagged out to Goldust. Ambrose battled back against the old timer and held his own, eventually forcing Goldust to give up and go home too, tagging out to Langston. Dean made a hasty retreat and let Rollins deal with that one, but it wouldn’t be long before Dean was stepping in to the ring against the big man.

Despite being manhandled he held his own and from there, things began to break down in usual Shield style. The closing moments seeing Ambrose on the receiving end of the Yes Lock, seconds from tapping out before being saved by Roman. Ambrose hastily made the tag to Orton and got the hell out of there, leaving Orton to deal with the stunned Bryan. Unfortunately, it once again wasn’t to be The Shields night as the flying goat got the better of Orton and pinned him to take home the victory. Things just haven’t been in The Shields favor lately, have they.
