Michael Cole conducted an interview ‘earlier in the day’ with the NX3 trio and was almost instantly cut off by Dean Ambrose as he proceeded with his questions. Dean simply telling him to just spit it out if he had a question. Cole nervously obeyed the instruction and asked if the three of them were here to defend Punk, he was met with an abrupt ‘No’ from Dean, before Seth Rollins took over and began to explain that the three of them had sat down in NXT and watched the WWE become a popularity contest, that true talent was being bypassed in favor of whoever the WWE Universe cheered for and that this was injust. Ambrose continued, explaining that they saw the fact that CM Punk had been forced to defend his WWE Championship against two men he’d already defeated, as an injustice. In this day and age a 365 day Title reign is one massive accomplishment and should be celebrated, had that accolade been Rybacks’s, they would have jumped in in his defense instead.

In short, they’ve arrived in the WWE to right the injustices that they see in the WWE. Declaring themselves to be ‘The Shield’. Reigns put an end to the interview shortly thereafter, the trio leaving Michael Cole duly intimidated.

During the Main Event between CM Punk and Kane, The Shield arrived at ringside and circled the ring, waiting for the match to finish. With CM Punk victorious, Ambrose, Rollins & Reigns entered the ring and for a moment seemed like they may go after Punk, before suddenly and viciously turning their attention to Kane, issuing another brutal beatdown. Daniel Bryan ran in for the save but was caught almost immediately by the trio and issues the same punishment. As The Shield dominated, Ryback made his presence felt and for a handful of moments got the better of the threesome, however with the numbers game and a little help from CM Punk, Ambrose and co were soon delivering yet another brutal powerbomb to Ryback, leaving him down and out in the ring. Punk stood tall over the wrecking machine, while The Shield gloated over their handywork. Not in allegiance with Punk? Hmmm.

Published by Jen, Filed in Jim Ross Says

Jim Ross has published a new blog over on with his thoughts on the ‘NX3’ Trio and their presence at RAW tonight, heres what he had to say about Ambrose!

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on RAW tonight: “Apparently the three men in black, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns will be interviewed by @MichaelCole tonight on Raw. I hope that we get some revealing info but not too much as I feel these three can be significant contributors on RAW but I also feel that this info needs to come over time especially with WWE doing tons of episodic TV. As a fan, I don’t need every question answered tonight and, hopefully, their comments will elict even more interest/questions.

“Count on this…no matter what the three, NXT talents have to say, it will be dissected and thoroughly analyzed. In today’s social media crazed, info heavy world of sports entertainment, everything is under a microscope and there are more ‘experts’ sounding off than ever before. Don’t take that as a knock and if you do… Lighten Up Francis.”

Dean Ambrose: “Ambrose has a little Roddy Piper and Brian Pillman traits in him or so it seems to me. His FCW/NXT bout a few months ago with @RealKingRegal was stellar. I called it with Dusty Rhodes and we had a blast. Ambrose is a blue chip stock and is arguably the most ‘unpredictable’ of the three. Perhaps ‘complex’ is an adequate word to describe Ambrose at this point in time.”

CM Punk’s current mentor and renowned evil genius Paul Heyman stirred up a name from Dean’s past this week for an exclusive interview with his website, that being Gabe Sapolsky, the founder and manager of Dragon Gate USA & Evolve, two promotions Dean worked extensively for over 2010/2011. Here’s what he had to say!

What was it like to work with Dean Ambrose before he exploded on the WWE at Survivor Series? The man who gave Ambrose his very first big break discusses the early years of WWE’s newest superstar!

I’ll never forget the very first moment I worked with the man now known as Dean Ambrose. There was only one other time I experienced anything like it in my 10 year booking career and that was with Paul Heyman’s current top hustler, CM Punk.

We were fortunate to have Ambrose, then known as Jon Moxley, as a building block of my Dragon Gate USA and EVOLVE promotions for almost two years. I have to admit, I was in love with him as a talent and fascinated by him as a person. We had an instant creative chemistry. It paid off with Ambrose leading Kamikaze USA of Dragon Gate standouts YAMATO, Akira Tozawa and Shingo as well as being in a violent feud against Jimmy Jacobs. The bloodbath I Quit Match against Jacobs at DGUSA Bushido: Code Of The Warrior 2010 is an ageless classic.

After a week of vicious attacks on WWE Superstars, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will address the WWE Universe for the very first time on Monday Night Raw. What will this rowdy group of assailants from WWE NXT have to say about their recent onslaught?

Dressed in all black, the troublesome trio has quickly generated a lot of buzz both in the locker room and across the WWE Universe with their surprise assaults over a series of WWE events. First, they injected themselves into the Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series by ambushing Ryback and powerbombing him through the announce table right when the hulking contender appeared to be on the cusp of capturing his first WWE Title.

But it was soon clear they weren’t satisfied there, as Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns repeated their brutal three-man powerbomb on Ryback the very next night on Raw, and emerged from out of nowhere to pummel Santino Marella and Tyson Kidd during their tag team match at a Grand Rapids, Mich., TV taping Tuesday night.

Three relentless, hard-hitting attacks throughout three days raised a number of pressing questions amid the WWE Universe. Will these invaders explain their wild actions at Survivor Series, Raw and the TV taping? Or will Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns leave us with even more questions about their motive for blitzing WWE Superstars with reckless abandon?

We’ll find out Monday night on Raw at 8/7 CT!

The internets buzzing with news and rumors regarding the arrival of Dean Ambrose and his partners in crime Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, since their attacks on Ryback and now Tyson Kidd and Santino Marella. While nothing’s been 100% confirmed, according to WWE Spanish commentator Marcelo Rodríguez the rumored name for the group is “The Shield”. Incidentally this is the name of a long running very popular police drama so I’m not sure how they can hope to obtain the copyright, so I remain unconvinced by the name’s validity!

As well as that, the rumored theme for the group has surfaced online and is allegedly going to be a remixed version of “I’m Telling You” by Cincinnati based band Damn It To Hell. You can hear the original track Here!

Ambrose and co will be interviewed this coming Monday on RAW by Michael Cole, we can only pray Dean gets his hands on that mic and never lets go!

Published by Jen, Filed in have gone article crazy on the Ambrose invasion, this time getting word from their NXT Mentor Dusty Rhodes on what he thinks of their antics! Read on!

Go ahead and call them “kids,” “upstarts,” “Superstars in training.” None of those dismissive terms changes the fact Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have successfully laid out the most destructive force in WWE, Ryback, on consecutive nights. And now, new video obtained by suggests the trio of NXT developmental talents has expanded its campaign to target other members of WWE’s main roster.

Days removed from the frenzied closing scenes of Survivor Series and Monday’s Raw, the WWE Universe continues piecing together the puzzle that is the Ambrose-Rollins-Reigns triumvirate. As WWE management, fans and Superstars try to decipher the objectives of the “kids from NXT” — as well as determine their connection, if any, to WWE Champion CM Punk and Paul Heyman — all WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes can do is sit back and nod knowingly from his office in NXT’s Florida headquarters.

Published by Jen, Filed in Images, Videos, has obtained exclusive footage showing another attack perpetrated by NXT upstarts Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, this time at a Grand Rapids TV taping Tuesday night.

A match pitting Santino Marella against Tyson Kidd was suddenly interrupted by the mysterious trio, marking the third consecutive night Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns wreaked havoc on unsuspecting WWE Superstars following back-to-back assaults on Ryback.

Spilling into the ring donning their now-familiar black garb, the three-man crew attacked Marella and Kidd from behind, tossed Santino out of the ring and executed a vicious three-man powerbomb on Kidd. Making their exit, the NXT competitors added final insult to the fallen Marella, literally kicking The Milan Miracle when he was down.

This shocking assault comes in the wake of previous attacks on Ryback Sunday night at Survivor Series and again last night on Raw. Motives remain unknown, and speculation is running rampant throughout the WWE Universe and the locker room as to what these attacks might mean, and to what extent the trio may go next time.

For now, though, Superstars will just have to wonder when they may strike again.

For two consecutive nights, three young WWE NXT competitors — Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns — have seemingly protected CM Punk, ensuring the WWE Champion has been able to wriggle away from his rivals and out of harm’s way.

They’ve also pummeled Ryback with not one, but two table-shattering powerbombs.

Punk has yet to address the controversial ending to Survivor Series in which Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns hit the ring and brutalized Ryback right after he Shell Shocked both Punk and John Cena. (PHOTOS) But after the rowdy trio once again stepped in the destructive path of the near 300-pound beast on Raw, speculation will only intensify about The Straight Edge Superstar’s possible connection to these NXT assailants.

What if Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns aren’t out to defend the WWE Champion, however? What if their mission instead is to tear apart the fastest-rising Superstar in WWE piece by piece?

[spoiler effect=”blind”]Before Ryback could even get to the ring Monday night to crash Punk’s celebration of his one-year anniversary as WWE Champion, he was blindsided by Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns, who wailed on the hulking contender with a series of vicious punches and kicks. Then in a devastating display of déjà vu, the NXT invaders drove him through the same announce table as they did at Survivor Series. (PHOTOS | VIDEO) As the trio took to the ring to revel in their rampage, Punk didn’t even seem to know what to make of it, but nonetheless enjoyed yelling “Best in the World!” in triumph after the dismantling of arguably the biggest threat to his coveted WWE Title.

There is something ever so curious about the way these NXT attackers, dressed uniformly in black from head to toe, have made their presence felt during the closest moments of back-to-back WWE programs. It’s easy to point fingers and believe Punk and Paul Heyman are behind it all, but isn’t that exactly what many members of the WWE Universe thought about Brad Maddox when the rogue referee decided to attack Ryback at WWE Hell in a Cell and seal a victory for Punk? Just one week later on Raw, we learned straight from Maddox that he acted alone and was trying to make a name for himself in the hopes of becoming a WWE Superstar. (VIDEO)

Is it a stretch to think Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns want not to protect Punk’s WWE Title reign, but to make an emphatic statement and thrust themselves into the spotlight?

As extensively detailed following their first attack Sunday night, these young NXT standouts have made it clear they’re three of the most talented and dangerous athletes in WWE’s developmental system. (FULL STORY) They’ve already proven their propensity for risk-taking during their ascent up the ranks in a short period of time. Now, rather than patiently await their promotion to WWE, they’ve taken it upon themselves to seize the attention of the entire WWE Universe by mercilessly and methodically targeting the hottest young Superstar whose past stomping ground was WWE’s developmental system as well.

Throughout history, rebel groups ranging from The New World Order to The Nexus have made a dramatic impact in sports-entertainment with unpredictable attacks. What quicker way for Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns also to leave their mark than to destroy a monster who is seemingly indestructible?

As questions continue to swirl over Punk’s increasingly controversial WWE Title reign, three shaggy-haired newcomers appear to be hell-bent on shifting the buzz to themselves.

If there is more of this to come, Ryback might have to stop looking ahead to Punk’s WWE Championship, and start looking behind him to see what kind of wild ambush is next.
